I just got a “Hurricane Preparedness DVD” in the mail as part of a welcome kit from Bay News 9. Upon visiting their site, today’s headline is “FDOT: Major Bay area evacuation likely to be chaotic“.

Quite a major change from Kansas City, which has the easiest evacuation situation of any major city in the nation according to Wired (I wish I could find that article online).

We finished our trek from Kansas on April 15th and Carrie has been in New York this past week for orientation. There will be pictures once she gets back from the Big Apple.

So far, here are a few of the things I love about Florida:

• No state income tax
• No sales tax on food items

And things I don’t like about Florida:

• Auto insurance is through the roof
• Traffic (fewer cars on the road, yet it takes forever to get to where you need to go)
